Celebrating our bi-centennial in 2010, Rowlands Pharmacy is a chain of retail pharmacies operating throughout England, Scotland and Wales. We have pharmacies in every branch of community pharmacy, including superstores and health centres as well as rural and High Street locations.
In November 1998, the Company was acquired by Phoenix Pharmahandel. Phoenix is the largest pharmaceutical wholesaler in Europe with subsidiaries in 23 European countries. Phoenix currently occupies 13% of the UK wholesale market - and is growing fast!
Rowlands Pharmacy has grown to well over 450 stores employing in excess of 3,800 people. We are committed to giving the patient the best care and advice and are currently embarking on several industry-leading initiatives:
- A new corporate identity has been rolled out through our ongoing refit programme
- Our own PMR system - ProScript has been installed into every Rowlands Branch
- A state of the art EPOS system has been rolled out and will ensure that we 'have the right stock, in the right place, at the right time'

- Development of the best Pharmacist, Pre-registration Pharmacist, Summer Student and staff training packages to enable us to provide exceptional customer service
- Continually developing our Services in line with the new pharmacy contract and the role of the pharmacy team within the community to deliver these services.
