Chief Executive Officer - Salary £50,000 to £60,000 based on experience and skills

Kent Local Pharmaceutical Committee represents 334 Community Pharmacies across the area.  Due to the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) moving role we are seeking to appoint a new CEO.

This exciting key leadership full time role offers the perfect opportunity for an experienced pharmacist leader to build on the work of the previous CEO, as well as grasping opportunities that will present themselves arising out of the NHS 5 year plan and our evolving LPC strategy and business plan.

The Role

The overall purpose of the role is to guide and support the Kent LPC in the conduct of its business to deliver the best possible outcomes for Kent Community Pharmacy Contractors, as defined by the Kent LPC strategy.

The successful individual will provide exceptional leadership support to the Committee ensuring our organisation is at the forefront of the pharmaceutical environment in the areas we work in, via objectives:

To work with the committee to set the strategic direction of Community Pharmacy in Kent.

To engage with NHS leaders, commissioners, politicians and the public at both local and national levels to deliver the defined strategic agenda.

To deliver the strategy through the agreed annual strategic plan working to timescales and deadlines as required.

To ensure long term sustainability, through effective governance, sound finance and delivery of services.

To work with the The Kent LPC committee to generate and manage an annual budget and ensure preparation and publication of annual accounts and an annual report.

To scan for opportunities and advise on proposals for the committee’s consideration on locally commissioned services.  

The Person 

Due to the nature of this role, it is anticipated that the successful candidate will be an experienced high-calibre senior manager within the healthcare or pharmacy specific sector, with an excellent knowledge and appreciation of community pharmacy and healthcare strategic direction and practice. 

The candidate must be a registered pharmacist. 

A wide range of skills and attributes are summarised below: 

Proven record of achievement in a senior position within an organisation over at least three years. 

Knowledge and experience of working at Board level 

Experience of managing support staff

Experience of negotiating and influencing at a strategic level and building relationships and partnership.

Understanding of the wider health and social care agenda

Experience of strategic planning, business development and fundraising. 

Experience of representing an organisation publicly to the media.

Ability to devise and deliver the mission and objectives of Kent LPC with demonstrable passion, drive and commitment. 

Positive, pro-active and dynamic. 

Remuneration: Salary £50,000 to £60,000 based on experience and skills for a five day week.
