Salary: Up to £33,000 (dependent upon experience)

What you'll do:

In this newly created role you’ll report into our NHS Business Partner for England and work closely within a team of 3. You’ll be covering circa 600 branches focussing on ‘Quality Criteria’ (QC) for those stores to ensure maximum engagement and participation. This role will also cover services but the focus and responsibilities will be for QC and NHS contracts, as you’ll translate the national contracts into what it means for Well Pharmacy to a variety of audiences.

You’ll manage and engage various stakeholders across our business interacting with a core audience of Regional Managers. It’s a hands-on role from collating data, updating spreadsheets through to liaising regularly with our stores so strong verbal and written communication skills are needed and Excel skills to an intermediate level are essential with this role.

This is a great opportunity for you to use and grow your experience gained either from within the NHS, Pharmacy Store environment and/or from a Pharmacy central operations role. It’s a fast-paced team and environment, you’ll define and implement this new role during this period of key change within NHS England.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with NHS Business partner to support engagement, delivery and monitoring of Quality Criteria requirements and the NHS Contractual Framework in England
  • Subject matter expert on commissioned pharmacy-based services, developing support resources, engagement and communication, ensuring steps are taken to minimise financial and reputational risk.
  • Working with Central Operations Team on the simplification of relevant store processes
  • Scoping and writing of SOPs, store guidance, training materials and hub content to enable and engage store colleagues to deliver pharmacy services, quality criteria and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and maintain accurate databases relating to services and the pharmacy contract to enable accurate reporting
  • Responsible for ensuring scrutiny and governance on all contracts agreed for pharmacy services in line with the framework, liaising with Legal or Operations where necessary.
  • Provide relevant information to finance, marketing and communications to maximise financial opportunities.
  • Manage the day to day work of the services administration team.
  • Increase participation and delivery by working within agreed frameworks.
  • Use data and reports to identify trends and patterns to bench-mark and increase service participation and contract compliance.

Key knowledge and skills required for the role:

  • Experience of commissioning or delivery of pharmacy services desirable
  • Knowledge of English NHS pharmacy contract and commonly commissioned pharmacy services
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Able to work to multiple key objectives, manage own work & adapt to unexpected situations
  • Able to analyse opportunities and risks relating to pharmacy contracts
