Downland Services Ltd (DSL) is a small Community Pharmacy located within The Downland Practice, in Chieveley in lovely rural West Berkshire. The practice is a large modern dispensing practice, which also owns and runs the pharmacy for the benefit of all patients.

During May 2018 the Pharmacy is undergoing an exciting operational and structural change so that all patients will be able to receive a high-quality pharmacist-led service. The practice is therefore now looking for a Superintendent Pharmacist with the experience and drive to grow the business further.  In this position, the Superintendent Pharmacist will have the responsibility for the pharmacy governance and safety, as well as the operational management of all the dispensing activities at the practice.

To this end we are now seeking an engaging individual with energy and enthusiasm and who would relish the opportunity to make their mark in a new “hybrid pharmacy” that is fast moving, professional and vibrant. Working closely with GPs, health professionals and managers in the medical practice, the successful candidate will have strong business, interpersonal and organisational skills.  Our ideal candidate would be a person who thrives on patient contact, is supportive and provides clear guidance to their team and has the gravitas to provide stringent direction on Pharmaceutical regulatory and ethical issues.

In return we will offer an excellent remuneration package, including 5 weeks holiday, plus Bank Holidays pro-rata and staff discount. After 10 years continuous service, we offer an additional week’s leave. Hours of working are very flexible due to the opening hours of the enlarged business (8.00-19.00).
