Job Details

The Pre Registration Pharmacist role is fully supported and training provided by Buttercups Training Ltd.  Study time is included and each Student will have 4 weeks paid holiday. The successful applicant will be working closely with the pharmacy team, surgeries and patients using a robotic dispensing system.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

1.   Professionalism

  1. Ensure understanding and compliance with the Abington Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures.
  2. Ensure the Pharmacy is open for trading and dispensing of prescriptions during the registered hours.
  3. Ensure all prescriptions are dispensed and endorsed accurately.
  4. Ensure the highest standards of professional service and care to our patients.
  5. Respect confidentiality of information concerning customers in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
  6. Maintain confidentiality of company policies and figures.
  7. To participate in the GPhC training programme and be responsible for your own learning to provide a portfolio of evidences and prepare for the Pre-Reg exam
  8. To attend buttercups training days
  9. To plan and prioritise work and study, meeting all deadlines set.
  10. To participate in a Pharmacy Audit as agreed by Abington Pharmacy
  11. Undertake the training required by the company to fulfil your role effectively, and ensure a high degree of professionalism.

2.   Customer service

 

  1. Ensure a prompt and efficient dispensing service
  2. Deal with customer complaints and dispensing errors promptly and efficiently in accordance with company policy
  3. To communicate and liaise with other healthcare professionals
  4. Develop and maintain good relationships with local surgeries and nursing homes
  5. Respond to symptoms and recommend appropriate OTC medication
  6. Councel and advise

3.   Housekeeping

 

  1. Have recently completed an MPharm in Pharmacy at a recognized UK University or completed an OSPAP course.
  2. Work as part of a team but also individually and work well under pressure.
  3. Be a dependable, honest and self-confident member of the team.
  4. Ensure that the dispensary projects a professional image at all times
  5. Dispensary shelves to be clean, tidy, and well organised with special attention to risk management guidelines
  6. Ensure the floor is kept clean, and free from hazards, i.e. boxes

4.   Stock Control

 

  1. Maximise profitability through effective stock ordering- both from correct sources, and in the optimum quantities
  2. Ensure all orders are checked off accurately, and dispensary stock put out with care
  3. Ensure a date checking procedure is maintained and recorded

The above list is not exhaustive. You may be required to perform other duties, those deemed reasonable by your Pre- Registration Manager.
