Pharmacist Member - Appointments Committee
Location: Canary Wharf, London
Are you a pharmacist looking to broaden your experience? Do you want to play a part in the regulation of pharmacy professionals? Could you help the GPhC as a pharmacist member of the Appointments Committee?
The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is the regulator for pharmacy professionals and registered pharmacies in the UK. It is our job to protect, promote and maintain the health, safety and wellbeing of patients and the public by upholding standards and public trust in pharmacy.
As part of the regulatory function of upholding standards three independent statutory committees decide on complaints against registrants and pharmacy premises. The Appointments Committee is responsible for the recruitment of the members of the three statutory committees, and providing independent assurance on the quality of their work.
To be considered, you must have experience of committee work, interview and selection processes, and be registered with the GPhC as a pharmacist.
The term of office is four years with the possibility of reappointment for a second term of up to four years. The remuneration is £300 per day and as a guide the role would involve between 4-15 days per year. Separate arrangements are in place for training days.
We are proud of being an employer that values the diversity of its workforce and we encourage applicants from all backgrounds and sections of the community to apply.
