Specialist Clinical Pharmacist – Dispensary based

The pharmacy department at HPFT is in the process of rapid transformation to ensure that it is a service fit for the future and is at the forefront of the Hospital Pharmacy Transformation Programme. As a result an excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Pharmacist to be a part of this exciting journey and join our friendly and dynamic team.

The post would appeal to Pharmacists that wish to develop their operational management skills and have an interest in mental health.

The primary role of the post holder will be to manage the day to day running or our small dispensary and support the Lead Pharmacist for Operations in designated projects. The post holder will also be required to deliver a ward based clinical pharmacy service to Trust wards.

The post holder must be flexible, have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), strong organisational skills, enjoy working as part of a team and be able to show compassion and respect for people with mental health problems.

The post holder must have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council and postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Pharmacy and/or Psychiatric Therapeutics (up to at least certificate level). We will accept applications from motivated Community Pharmacists that may not possess formal postgraduate qualifications but can demonstrate equivalent experience.

The candidate will be supported to undertake further postgraduate qualifications.
