Role: 

Based in our Support Centre in Coventry, you will support the growing Healthcare Services channel, as part of the newly formed Speciality division, creating robust clinical procedures enabling our pharmacy teams to operate to the highest and safest standards of care.  Your remit will span across all healthcare sectors including hospital pharmacy services, mental health services, prison pharmacies, community hospitals, hospices and all independent hospital arrangements including locally commissioned services. You will work closely with operational, service development and healthcare service colleagues offering guidance and support to ensure quality excellence in all parts of the service and meeting our customer needs. The healthcare space is rapidly changing and you will be part of shaping the future of healthcare services through raising the bar in clinical excellence.

Your priority will be to ensure clinical patient safety is at the heart of everything you do whilst being creative with new processes in new care models.  You will work with external customers like hospital clinical leads (Pharmacists, technicians) to develop new Standard Operating Procedures and guidance documents to reflect the new service to ensure our pharmacy teams are well informed of their responsibilities.

You will provide support to the Clinical Standards Pharmacist for Secondary Care and work closely with the Clinical and Professional Standards Assistant working as a team to deliver on customer commitments. You will support the training of new procedures and clinical practices to pharmacy teams ahead of implementing new services.

You will be professional and clinically accountable for keeping up to date with the latest best clinical practice and look to make process developments and standards as part of continuous quality improvement. You will maintain professional and supportive long term relationships with our external customers working collaboratively to be a recognised health partner.

Person: 

It is essential you are a qualified and GPhC registered Pharmacist with previous experience in delivering pharmacy services to patients combined with clinical practice knowledge and awareness of secondary care services.

You will need to demonstrate experience of working within a hospital or other specialist clinical Pharmacy sector such as mental health and prison services

With the ability to work across a wide range of projects you will be able to work both independently and within a team to high standards of operational delivery and clinical governance.

You will be able to demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic patient centric attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.

Possess strong quality orientation, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and adhere to compliance/audit requirements and be confident in your presentation and communication skills to include report writing.

Understanding and knowledge of SOPs combined with solid experience in Microsoft programs e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel would be desirable.

Location:

This role is based at our Support Centre in Coventry, Walsgrave Triangle, CV2 2TX. We are located just off junction 2 of the M6, easily accessible by car. If using public transport, we are 5.5 miles from Coventry train station, approx. 40 minutes by bus from the station.
