Rotational Clinical Pharmacist
Band 6 (+ Emergency Duty Commitment)
37.5 hours
We are looking for a motivated pharmacist to join our friendly and committed team. We are a progressive department providing a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service which is supported by pharmacists who are Non Medical Prescribers. We have robotic dispensing and an electronic prescribing and administration system.
As part of a ward based team, you will be able to develop your skills on our structured rotational training programme. Supported by a Lead Specialist Pharmacist in each area you will gain experience in many areas including:

- Cardiology
- Paediatrics
- Endocrinology
- Trauma & Orthopaedics
- Stroke
- Respiratory
We are looking for a confident pharmacist with enthusiasm, drive and commitment. You would also need to demonstrate good communication skills.

The Pharmacy Shop is a registered pharmacy with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) situated conveniently on site at Stepping Hill Hospital. The shop has been established primarily with the aim of delivering a more personalised and efficient experience for our outpatients. In addition to this we also offer provide a variety of pharmaceutical services to the general public, patients and members of staff.
We currently provide a convenient and expanding retail opportunity. This includes offering a range of over-the-counter medicines as well as other health and beauty products.
As well as our retail services, the Pharmacy Shop provides specialist hospital prescription based dispensing and counselling services to help patients manage their healthcare and medicines. This can be especially important for patients and their carer’s when being initiated on new medication.
The Pharmacy Shop also provides health and wellbeing support such as with smoking cessation and emergency hormonal contraception which is available to the public, patients and staff. We have two consultation areas which are available to discuss any healthcare related concerns with a pharmacist.
