General Practice Clinical Pharmacist

Band 7, 22.5hpw, Permanent, working in Lower Annandale & Eskdale Locality

Working as part of the Community Health & Social Care (CH&SC) Pharmacy team, you will work in GP practices, initially in the Langholm, Gretna, Canonbie area but with scope to work in other practices as required by the needs of the service, to assist in the provision of the new pharmacotherapy service that is being implemented as part of the GP contract. This is a brand new and exciting General Practice Clinical Pharmacy service that will see pharmacists and pharmacy technicians take a leading role in medicines management and medication review as part of the multidisciplinary GP and CH&SC teams. This is a chance for you to shape the future of the pharmacy profession!

The education, training and development of our staff is of paramount importance to us and with this in mind, if you have not already done so, you will be required to undertake the competency & capability based training programme provided by NES for General Practice Clinical Pharmacists. This will give you a solid platform on which to go on and build your career with us here in Dumfries & Galloway. Additionally, there is a requirement within this post to work as an Independent Prescriber and you will therefore have the opportunity to gain your Pharmacist Independent Prescriber qualification if you do not already have this.
