Abbey Field Pharmacy is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and energetic pharmacist manager to join our team at Abbey Field Pharmacy Colchester as Maternity Cover.

This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to join an innovative and forward thinking Independent group with 10 branches nationally.

The pharmacy is co-located and co-owned with a large innovative GP practice and as such this role may suit a pharmacist looking for a designated medical practitioner to complete their independent prescribing training.

The right candidate will be highly motivated by the challenge of building on an excellent first 18 months of business in a new pharmacy & managing a successful team that has grown the business from zero to over 10k items/month within the first year. You will be customer-focused and enjoy delivering services and building lasting rapport with the customers, co-located GP practice and local organisations.

You will lead by example with excellent customer service skills to help our Pharmacy provide the very best healthcare services to the local community.

There is an excellent existing support structure to enable our pharmacists and their team to be service driven and deliver a range of NHS advanced and enhanced services, along with Private PGDs and other private services including travel clinic, providing a very interesting and varied community role. The pharmacy is equipped with a first of it's kind in UK dual robotic dispensing system which reduces time spent on mundane tasks and allows more time on direct patient contact.

Full support for SOPS, commercial arrangements, HR, Health & Safety, Marketing, Training etc is provided as part of the existing group management structure.

The pharmacy is standard contract hours, no shift work. The role is full time but exact work pattern will be chosen & managed by the candidate themselves. Salary and benefits are excellent for the right individual. While the initial contract is temporary maternity cover, there will be scope to continue as part of the team on a part time basis as well as other potential career opportunities for the right candidate as primary care networks evolve locally.

Candidate Skills Required:

  • You MUST be a General Pharmaceutical Council registered Pharmacist
  • You must be commercially aware and understand how to maintain and grow a pharmacy business.
  • You will develop, in collaboration with the Operations Director, a strategic plan for the development of the pharmacy business within the market that the pharmacy operates, create and implement a range of operational activities to support the achievement of the strategic plan, and report on the success of those activities
  • You will be a team player who is involved in all sides of the pharmacy business
  • You are professional, ethical and believe in providing outstanding patient care and customer service.
  • You are an excellent communicator who is confident at networking with patients and local healthcare professionals.
  • You are service-focused and enthusiastic for the new pharmacy contract and are keen to develop and grow services
