About the department

Working as part of the wider Pharmacy Superintendent’s Office, your role will be dual focused. You will support the Clinical Training Manager to facilitate the learning and development of our pharmacist colleagues at all levels from graduate through to full professional practice.

You will report into the Regional Quality Manager and support them in ensuring that the centrally produced professional standards agenda is delivered through the Professional Support Managers. You will be the country liaison into the Professional Standards team to ensure that all legal and contractual information is provided to support production of appropriate guidance to branches. You will be the country-specific Patient Safety Lead

The role will be field based supporting trainees and branches across a defined geographical area however you will need to attend meetings in support centre/other locations outside of the area as required.


About the opportunity

  • Deliver centrally produced Professional Standards Agenda through support and training of Professional Support Managers and Cluster Managers
  • Support the General Manager to understand the professional standards and clinical governance risks
  • Ensure the Professional Standards team have all the legal and contractual information they need to produce appropriate guidance for branches
  • Delivery of training to a range of experience levels including undergraduate, pre-registration and early years of practice
  • Responsible for delivery of training including pre-registration development days and early years of practice workshops
  • Supporting programme development including review of new and existing learning materials.
  • Undertake regular reviews with learners to ensure progress as well as providing honest and constructive feedback
  • Act as a role model and mentor to delegates, ensuring they derive maximum learning from these opportunities and drive their own personal development
  • Proactively manage issues raised by delegates locally and escalate further as appropriate.
  • Identification of learners who require additional support and work alongside the wider support teams to provide advice and guidance for these individuals
  • Deliver programmes using a blended approach to include group learning and webinars and considering different learning styles
  • Deliver the consistent use and embedding of a Safer Care culture throughout your areas to further our aspiration to be the safest Pharmacy network in the UK.
  • To act as the Area contact for GPhC Inspectors and NHS Health Boards thereby fostering close working relationships and being able to respond promptly to any identified concerns.

  • Strong coaching ability
  • Driver’s license
  • Desirable
  • Previous experience of delivering training
  • Experience presenting to a group
  • Experience in mentoring
