About the department

As a Clinical Contact Centre Pharmacist, you will be responsible for delivering remote patient support to patients via telephone and SMS, based within a Call Centre setting to support medicines optimisation.

The successful applicant will act as a clinical expert, delivering advice to patients on how to get the most from their medications and achieve better disease control.

A key element of this role will be to focus on providing adherence support and practical advice to patients, whilst promoting health and well-being support to the patient ensuring they are able to achieve better health outcomes through correct utilization of their medication.

About the opportunity

  • Consult with patients regarding their active drug therapy and drug utilization as prescribed by their health care professional.
  • To deliver behavioural change with patients by influencing their beliefs about their medicines and support positive adherence.
  • To make outbound calls to patients as per defined Programme protocols
  • To take inbound calls and manage patient queries
  • To provide patient support via SMS
  • Work on several different patient support programmes for the NHS, PharmaCo or LloydsPharmacy
  • To deliver clinical trials as agreements with 3rd party organisations
  • Successfully complete all required Programme training and testing
  • Convey a positive company image on the telephone and within the workplace at all time
  • Support design and development of call script
  • Achievement of specific quality goals related to adherence to standard operating procedures and scripting
  • Provide leadership and support to team members and ensure adherence to program procedures and compliance with all legal requirements and standards of pharmacy practice
  • Provide ongoing feedback to management regarding program operations and potential improvements to quality, efficiency, and overall program performance
  • Maintain patient privacy in all interactions.
  • Practice within legal requirements and ethical principles, and demonstrate professional integrity and acting to uphold a professional standard of practice

About you

The successful candidate will be a qualified pharmacist with previous experience in delivering pharmacy services to patients. Ideally he/she will possess an excellent knowledge of the NHS, pharmacy or PharmaCo environments, with a clear ability to work across a wide range of projects.

It is important that you are self-motivated, confident and possess the relevant gravitas to inspire and influence patients.

The ability to work both independently and within a team to high standards of operational delivery and clinical governance is to be expected.

Previous experience working in the field of adherence and patient support or qualifications within health psychology / behavioural change arena would be highly beneficial but not essential.
