Overview of the pharmacy

• Independent, family run, 100 hour pharmacy in medical centre;
• Opening hours: Monday-Saturday 8am-11pm, Sunday 10am-8pm;
• Staff: There is a team of 12 including: support pharmacist; ACT; technician; dispensers; counter assistant; pharmacy apprentice; drivers; pre-reg student;
• Services: This is a healthy living pharmacy dispensing a high volume of prescription items; weekly nomad patients; methadone supply using methameasure to support dispensing and record keeping; smoking cessation service; extensive delivery service; busy walk in acute and repeat business;
• We are situated inside the medical practice with whom we have close working relations;
• The pharmacy is about to go through a refit which involves fully integrating with the GP practice to have a shared entrance and waiting area.
• There is also a small retail area.

The Role: in essence

• This is a joint role working alongside the existing Pharmacy manager/Superintendent, with shared responsibility for the day to day management of the pharmacy and staff, supporting each other to ensure smooth running of all tasks and services;
• Effective communication and leadership skills are required to motivate and guide the team in excellent customer service;
• Drive the numbers, ensure MUR and NMS targets are reached and look for new business development opportunities for growth;
• Work with other managers and key members of the team to progress Company wide initiatives and priorities;
• Performance management including appraisals, regular reviews;
• Holiday/ absence management including back to work interviews;
• Stock management;
• Retail sales.

Proposed hours:  37 or 33

Monday 8am-5.30pm

Tuesday 8am-4pm

Friday 1.30pm-11pm

Sunday 10am-8pm or Saturday 5pm-11pm

Would also consider a part-time candidate working Monday/Tuesday/Friday hours only (27 total)
