This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced pharmacist to join our dynamic and creative team who deliver our postgraduate programmes and CPD courses through distance learning within the School’s Centre for Professional Development and Lifelong Learning(CPD4ALL), a Centre of Excellence in the School of Pharmacy and Bioengineering.The School has strong links to the NHS primary and secondary care, including with the local University Hospital.We have contracts to provide postgraduate education with Health Education England and with two major community pharmacy organisations. There is currently a plethora of opportunities for developing Postgraduate pharmacy education and the School of Pharmacy is well placed to make the most of these opportunities. 

We are looking to appoint a pharmacist who has advanced scholarship skills and who is excited about supporting the professional development of registered pharmacists. Working closely with our postgraduate clinical pharmacy practice programme manager you will be responsible for supporting students in their learning and assessment as well as supporting module development and update. You will require excellent communication skills that can be used to support our students who study at a distance so that all achieve their maximum potential and learning goals. With high attention to detail you will have key roles in ensuring that our programmes and pastoral care to students is of the highest standard.  Experience in all sectors of pharmacy is desirable but particularly in community and primary care environments. 

There will be opportunities to promote CPD4ALL regionally and nationally and you will be expected to build effective sector networks. As a highly skilled communicator it is expected that you will have or be able to develop relationships with the pharmacy professional and regulatory bodies and that you will develop effective networks including with Health Education England, NHS England, Higher Education Institutions, employers, providers of pharmacy services and other key stakeholders across the health and social care system. It will be advantageous to have some experience of providing postgraduate courses by distance learning at scale.

This post is being offered as 1.0 wte post but we are willing to discuss flexible working and the potential for job sharing exists.

The School of Pharmacy was established in 2006 when the University launched its new and innovative MPharm programme.

We have recruited a strong team of experienced and enthusiastic staff to provide the most up to date education for pharmacists of the future. Our first cohort of undergraduate students are about to begin their third year on the course and are enjoying the brand new facilities provided especially for the MPharm programme.

As part of thriving and expanding Faculty of Health, the new School of Pharmacy complements established Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, and Health and Rehabilitation and builds on the University's established reputation as a leading provider of postgraduate Pharmacy education and an internationally recognised centre of expertise in the area of Medicines Management.

The School incorporates the Department of Medicines Management, with its long track record of providing high quality postgraduate education, and well-established research and service development portfolio.

The School of Pharmacy has a formal partnership with the National Prescribing Centre (NHS). NPC Plus transferred to Keele in 2006 and operates as a separate unit within the School of Pharmacy.


Undergraduate
Our MPharm programme is located in the newly refurbished School of Pharmacy building at the heart of the campus.

Postgraduate
We offer a range of postgraduate programmes in medicines management for pharmacists and health care professionals. Our postgraduate courses are delivered predominantly by distance learning and administered by staff based in Medicines Management.

Medicines Management
Medicines Management is located close to the School of Pharmacy building. We provide a broad ranging advisory service to NHS organisations and carry out a range of research and enterprise activities.

NPC Plus
NPC Plus is located in med IC 4 building on Keele Science Park.
