Your job will be a dual role, working as a community pharmacist in the partner owned Cromer Pharmacy and as a clinical pharmacist within Cromer Group Practice.  We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and wants to develop themselves as both a community pharmacist and a practice based clinical pharmacist, prior experience is valued but not essential.

You will have full access to surgery systems during all hours at work, enabling you to consider prescribing optimisation as part of your ongoing work.  As a member of the practice team, you will be able to work closely with our clinicians to help improve patient care and make cost efficient prescribing decisions.  Your role will be supported by our general practitioners who will help develop and mentor you.

In the pharmacy you will be very well supported, with three accuracy checking technicians and another pharmacist.  The superintendent pharmacist and pharmacy manager ensure that the team is well run and supported day to day.

Our ambition is to be offering as many pharmacy and dispensary services as possible.  We are particularly excited by what we could provide to our patients by utilising the GP referred Community Pharmacy Consultation Service and envisage having a second pharmacist on site as a means to be offering near constant consultations for minor acuity conditions.

We hope that in time we will be able to offer you the opportunity to undertake an independent prescribing qualification and that this can be used to great benefit in the hybrid organisation.  The job description describes in detail the clinical aspects that we hope the role might fulfil, this is aspiration and we do not expect an applicant to immediately be able to manage everything.  We will support development with these goals in mind.

About Cromer Group Practice

We are a large dispensing GP practice serving a patient population of 13,000 in the popular sea-side holiday destination of Cromer.

We prescribe more than 34,000 items of medication a month with our dedicated team of over 40 individuals: including four GP partners, a salaried GP, five nurse practitioners, three nurses and three healthcare assistants.  The dispensary and adjoining pharmacy dispense beyond 19,000 items a month and is well staffed with 18 members in the team.   We operate out of a recently built practice and pharmacy, giving us a fantastic environment to work in.
