Pharmacist Manager – Well Bishop Auckland, Newgate Centre

Location: Well Bishop Auckland, Unit 7 Newgate Centre, Bishop Auckland, County Durham DL14 7JQ

Hours: 42 per week including every other Saturday 9:00am - 1:00pm

We are looking for a Pharmacist Manager to make a real difference at our Bishop Auckland pharmacy. 

Bishop Auckland is a historic market town which has seen investment in recent years. It has some breath-taking scenery in the outlying areas. It is also well known for its outdoor attraction Kynren. 

Well Pharmacy in Bishop Auckland is situated within the Newgate Shopping Centre in the heart of this historic town. The pharmacy dispenses approx. 2,200 items per week and has a large OTC offer. The pharmacy has three main surgeries, where 30% of their items currently come from, and the pharmacy is currently seeing a growth due to the closure of a neighbouring competitor. The pharmacy currently services around 6 care homes and has a large number of MDS patients. The pharmacy currently offers a free delivery service which also services outlying areas. Services at this pharmacy include NMS, Supervised Consumption, CPCS, NHS 111, BP and Ambulatory monitoring, Smoking Cessation, EHC, C-Card and Minor Ailments.

The store team consists of 6 experienced and fully trained colleagues of varying contract sizes, including a time accuracy checking technician.

The store trades from 9am through to 5pm Monday to Friday and is open 9am until 1pm on a Saturday, with a permanent contract size 42 hours per week, working every other Saturday, however this is negotiable, to suit the right candidate. 

You will be supported in your role by an Area Operations Manager, headed by a Regional Operations Manager. Your AOM will support you through structured store visits. Your AOM will also support you in delivering company initiatives and KPI’s.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess an MPharm degree or equivalent and management experience is desired but not essential. You will be required to have your GPhC registration upon your start date.
