Standard Hours NHS Contract- Salary depends on contracted hours per week and experience level.

The pharmacy is well staffed technicians and dispensers.

The business is attached to a medical centre and is mostly dispensing. There is a low volume of instalment prescriptions, no supervision services, small amount of enhanced services including vaccinations.

This is high volume business so you need to be a confident team leader, with the best customer service skills and clinical knowledge. We are looking for someone that understands what a professional is and the importance of informed consent in pharmaceutical dispensing. As pharmacist you will lead by example.

You will be a pharmacist working as single cover.

The team is currently comprised of Manager one Dispensary Manager, 2 technicians, one dispenser, two HCA staff, Saturday staff one driver.

You main duties will be to

Accuracy check the dispensing work produced by the dispensary team.

Support to staff to work within good practice and within the SOPs of the quality management system.

Help achieve maximise PQS and additional services

Motivate and train staff

Carry out flu vaccination in winter season

Take part in Locally commissioned service such as smoking cessation

Use the SCR

Assist with customers clinical needs

As a pharmacist you will be expected to be up to date with all legal regulations and understand the working of the NHS contract.


Book locums as neded

Be the responsible pharmacist.

Carry out CPD

Comply with GPhC standards

IT literacy

Maximise use of the PMR

Use tendering software to over see good purchasing

Have access to SCR

Happy to use new technology wherever needed


Your IT skills are more important than ever, productive use of email and the Analyst PMR is expected.

Complaint with latest PQS provisions

Purchasing KPI related bonus scheme

5 days (9.5 hrs/ day ) in midweek.
