Experienced Pharmacy Medicines Counter Assistant
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday
Monday - Friday: 9am - 6.30pm
(Occasional) Saturday: 9am - 5pm
Rate: £11.50 - £13.00 per hour depending on experience

We pride ourselves on not only providing NHS and Private pharmacy services but also having a strong counter presence offering a large range of OTC & P goods to meet the needs of our patients.
Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly pharmacy counter assistant to join our team. Must be a well-presented, punctual individual with high standards, supporting the team in delivering an excellent customer experience. The candidate must be fluent in English and be IT literate, a fast & keen learner with a real personal commitment to self-growth. We are interested in a hard-working candidate, who can work flexibly as part of a team. You must have a Medical Counter Assistant Qualification and have a willingness to learn new skills. Our ideal candidate would have skincare and vitamins knowledge.
Responsibilities and Duties
- To support and assist all members of the pharmacy team.
- Assist with the day-to-day running of the pharmacy.
- To be the first point of contact for all customers
- To provide the best possible advice and refer to the pharmacist if appropriate.
- Ensure the smooth running of the medicines counter including managing stock levels, ordering and receiving stock
- Answering and handling telephone and face-to-face queries
- Maintain a clean and tidy environment.
- Handling and retrieving scripts under the supervision of the pharmacist.
- Organising and merchandising
- Taking sale transactions
- Local deliveries and pick up prescriptions from surgeries nearby (when required)
- Clean and maintain the tidiness of the shop floor
- Build relationships and rapport with patients, surgeries, and other healthcare professionals.
- Have a drive towards the promotion of pharmacy services.
- Be skilled in working independently as and when the situation requires.
Mandatory Experience and Qualification:
- Worked in community pharmacy for a minimum of 4 years
- Has a Medical Assistant Counter Qualification or equivalent
- Knowledge of identifying common skin conditions e.g., Eczema, Psoriasis, Fungal Infections
- Strong OTC knowledge
- Vitamins knowledge for common health conditions
