Overview of the role

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist to join the team and make a difference at our pharmacy in Chester.

This pharmacy is located within a GP surgery in the city centre. As it is close to student accommodation, many of its patients are students. This pharmacy is growing month on month. It is in the heart of Chester so has so much opportunity with services and items.

It has a large staff room and spacious consultation room. There is a multistory car park on site and all public transport is close by.

How our pharmacy makes a difference:

  • It dispenses around 13,000 items per month, including many emergency prescriptions,
  • Its main business is PCS and walk-ins,
  • It provides a wide range of services including NHS services and ear syringing
  • The pharmacy has a Methameasure for the substance misuse patients who have a separate entrance around the back.
  • It dispenses around 20 community blisters per week.

This pharmacy is open 8am until 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, Saturdays 8am - 9pm and Sundays 10am- 9pm. The dynamic team at this pharmacy is comprised of eight pharmacy colleagues.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate must possess an MPharm degree or equivalent and management experience is desired but not essential. You will be required to have your GPhC registration upon your start date.

Well are proud to be a diverse and inclusive employer. If you have any specific requirements, we'll do everything we can to support you. Whether it is to find a pharmacy that is accessible, or if it is a flexible position you are looking for, we can help find the role that is right for you. If you need us to make any reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process, we will be happy to accommodate you.

Package Description

On top of your salary, we also offer:

  • Support for you to complete your Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification,
  • Up to 15% of your annual salary, in bonuses, based on performance and delivery,
  • Relocation support (up to £8k) – this payment is dependent on job location and role. Please check the ‘salary’ section for this.
  • Welcome to Well bonus (£5K net payment) – This payment is exclusive to roles in certain locations. Please check the ‘salary’ section for this.
  • GPhC / PSNI and DBS/ PVG fees paid,
  • Fully supported career development, e.g. apprenticeship opportunities,
  • Pension scheme,
  • Generous holiday allowance,
  • Employee discount.

We can also offer:

  • Annualised contracts – so you can decide on the hours that best suit your work/life balance each year.
  • Consistent rotas and geographical coverage that suits you.

But there is much more we offer in terms of developing and growing your career.

You’ll be supported in your role by an Area Operations Manager and a Regional Operations Manager, with regular structured pharmacy visits.

We have invested in new technologies for our pharmacies, including a new PMR system and centralised dispensing, to allow you to focus on providing quality care and services to our patients and customers.

We are focussed on the mental health and wellbeing of all Well employees, which is why we’ve put all our field managers through the Mental Health Awareness course.

So, you’ll have much more than just a salary package – we will support you in your personal and professional development too.

About the Company

For over 70 years, we’ve been looking after the health and wellbeing of communities across the UK. Well Pharmacy (part of Bestway Healthcare) is the second largest pharmacy chain in the UK with c.760 pharmacies and a team of around 7,000 colleagues based across our Community Pharmacies, Online Pharmacy, Healthcare Services Centre, Community Drivers, Bestway Medhub & Wardles team and our Support Centre team.

Our mission is to be here for the wellbeing of our patients and customers, to provide the best community pharmacy experience in the UK for everyone, for our patients, our customers, our people, and our NHS.

The pharmacy of the future will look very different from the one we know today. It will play a huge role in transforming primary healthcare and we will play a central role in bringing it to life.

We will use our clinical expertise and technological ambition to take advantage of the potential this future has to offer us. Making medicines, advice, services and care available in the places and spaces that people need and want it most.

We want to be a great business. To be recognised as delivering a community pharmacy experience that is the best there is. To do this we want our teams to feel proud about the positive impact they make, feel valued as part of a close-knit and expert community, and feel confident in their role in a business that is stable, innovative, and caring.

Company

We’re changing, fast – and for the better. We’re investing in our branches and our people like never before – and we’re already an award-winning market leader, picking up a number of prestigious accolades for our community services.

So, whether you’re looking to manage a big branch, join a small local setting or enjoy the variety of locum work, we can offer the chance to become part of the UK’s largest British-owned community pharmacy.
