We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist to join our Primary Care team HMP Isle of Wight. HMP Isle of Wight is a category B male training prison. Located on a small island and is around 8 minutes from St Mary’s Hospital and 26 minutes away from Cowes Ferry Terminal. This role is fantastic opportunity that would suit an experienced pharmacist who thrives on working within a fast-paced environment and working collaboratively within clinical teams and will be working closely with both the pharmacy manager and pharmacy lead.
This site also offers the opportunity to source and complete an independent prescriber role for the right candidate
Hours
Our core hours on site are 7.30am-5.30pm Monday to Friday
Salary
This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £61,000 per annum- depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
At Practice Plus Group our pharmacy teams ensure medicines optimisation is embedded into everyday practice.
You'll be responsible for
- The provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service.
- Working closely with the Head of Healthcare and the multidisciplinary team, you'll be responsible for ensuring that the provision of service meets the contractual obligations.
- The role involves providing daily expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and ensuring that a safe but modern medicines management service is provided to prisoners.
- You will lead a team of support staff and work closely with a range of clinicians and non-clinicians from Primary Care, Mental Health, and other health partners in ensuring effective delivery of pharmacy services.

You will be a qualified Registered Pharmacist- BSc or Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, holding registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will have a real passion for developing your Pharmaceutical skills and those of your team.
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
